Joey Chestnut Talks Next-Day Dumps After Devouring a Record-Setting 83 Hot Dogs

Joey Chestnut finally squashed (or rather swallowed) the beef with his long-time rival.

On Labor Day, the GOAT of competitive eating went head-to-head with Takeru Kobayashi in Netflix’s Unfinished Beef hot dog-eating contest—a matchup that was 15 years in the making.

The last time they met was in the 2009 Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, when Chestnut beat Kobayashi after a five-dog sudden death.

Chestnut solidified himself as the best eater in the history of human civilization, devouring 83 hot dogs and buns to claim the $100K prize and break his previous world record of 76 hot dogs in the 10-minute competition.

The feat was even more impressive considering the contest introduced new rules, such as a ban on dunking the hot dogs in water.

“This is amazing,” Chestnut said afterward. “I’ve been trying to hit 80 hot dogs for years. Without Kobayashi, I was never able to do it. He drives me. We weren’t always nice to each other, but I love the way we push each other to be our best.”

Speaking of pushing, the fans were dying to know: What happens on the toilet after crushing nearly 25,000 calories worth of beef and buns?

The bad news is that it’s not pretty. The good news is that Joey has a full stash of DUDE Wipes to handle the aftermath when those 83 glizzies come out the other end.

“Thanks @dudewipes for being my cheat code and for saving my ass!” Chestnut wrote on Instagram.

We couldn’t be more proud to see the number 1 hot dog eater in history trusting DUDE Wipes for his number 2s.
